The reseach group of "Cromatography, Environmental Applications" belongs to the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, located within the Faculty of Chemistry at the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona).
From its beginnings in the 90s, the aim of the Group has been the determination and control of organic pollutants in environmental samples (water, air, soils,....) and biological samples, using new extraction techniques combined with the lastest generation or chromatographic techniques. Our research, transfer activities and services also move towards this objective.
The research group has been awarded from 2000 with a "Consolidated reseach Group" honorary mention by the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya), and it has been certified according to ISO 9001-2008 regulation from May 2009 by TÜV Rheinland Iberica from the introduction of the Quality Managements System in its research laboratories.
Currently, more than 20 people belong to the research group, 7 of them are PhD who constitute the permanent staff, while the rest are predoctoral research, technicians or project scholarship holders of differents companies.
The activities of the group are focused mainly in three fields: teaching, research, technology transfer and services.
