Dr. Ricardo Maza Quiroga was born in Málaga, Spain. He received his B.S in Chemical Sciences, in 2015, from the Universidad de Málaga. His Bachelor´s project was based on the study of vitamin C biosynthesis in strawberries, as well as the study of the enzymatic activity of D-galacturonic reductase (GalUR). Later, he graduated in the Master's Degree in Advanced Chemistry, Materials and Nanotechnology at the same University. In the course of the Master's degree, he worked at the Andalusian Research Center for Nanomedicine and Biotechnology (BIONAND), having previously worked with this group, where he emphasized the investigation of synthesis, purification and characterization of compounds used for the synthesis of dendrimers BODIPY (boron-dipyrromethene) type bio-mimetic fluorophores. In 2017 he started and industrial research at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) in Tarragona, Spain, under supervision of Prof. Elena Fernández in collaboration with Maystar. At the same year, he started a PhD. research project under supervision of Prof. Elena Fernández and Prof. Jordi Carbó related with the study of nucleophilicity of trivalent boryl motifs and alpha-boryl carbanions from an experimental and theoretical point of view. He obtained the Doctor Title in December 2021. He accepted a contract as postdoc within the same group, for one year.
